FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
What is Pondo?
Pondo is an AI-first, school-aligned adaptive learning system that builds a longitudinal understanding of how a child learns, provides the minimum effective support needed for the current curriculum, verifies independent understanding, and helps families and teachers act on trustworthy evidence rather than guesswork.
Is Pondo only for neurodivergent children?
No. Pondo is for every learner — everyday, confident and struggling learners, and neurodivergent learners — in one product.
Does Pondo diagnose?
No. Pondo never diagnoses or labels a child.
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No. Support is based on what Pondo observes a child needs. Sharing a diagnosis is optional.
What is available in V0.1?
A pre-launch one-month trial for Grade 5 CAPS Mathematics using sample information. Some controls are demonstrations and are not connected yet.
Does Pondo replace a teacher?
No. Pondo is designed to support learning alongside school, and teachers stay the professionals.
Is Pondo a chatbot?
No. Pondo is a structured learning system, not an open-ended chat.
How does Pondo decide when to help?
Pondo is designed to offer the smallest support likely to help, then reduce it. In the current trial, this is demonstrated with fixed rules.
What counts as independent evidence?
Work done with instructional help paused. Reading and comfort tools stay on and never count against independence.
What happens when Pondo is unsure?
It says so — “Pondo isn't sure yet” — and explains what further evidence would help.
Can parents control teacher access?
Yes. Teachers only see a learner when a parent/guardian invites them, and the parent can revoke access.
Is Pondo free?
Pondo begins with a one-month trial. Pricing after that has not yet been announced.
What information should I enter during the current trial?
Synthetic, fictional information only. Please do not enter real child, personal or medical information.
